چکیده
antioxidant properties of ghrelin have been demonstrated in recent studies. in the present study, theeffects of chronic administration of ghrelin on the motility and plasma membrane integrity of rat spermatozoa during incubation at 37ºc were investigated. thirty 45-day-old male wistar rats were divided into control and treatment groups. rats in the treatment group were daily injected subcutaneously with 1 nmol of ghrelin for 10 consecutive days and the control rats received normal saline. sperm was collected after killing of rats on days 5, 15 and 40 after the last injection, and sperm characteristics were examined at 0, 3 and 5 h after incubation at 37ºc. mass motility and forward progressive movement of spermatozoa were significantly higher in ghrelin-treated animals at 3 and 5 h of incubation on day 5 (p

متن کاملThe Effect of Doxycycline on the Viability of the Quail Embryo During Incubation Period
Objective: In recent years, antibiotics have been used widely in the glob to prevent and treat bacterial diseases. They injected into eggs to eliminate pathogens and prevention of egg transmission of disease, but the adverse effects of drugs have always been a major concern. There is little information available about the safety of tetracycline drugs in the embryonated eggs of the birds. The ob...

متن کاملBovine cyropreserved epididymal spermatozoa viability after incubation by different periods of time in IVF medium
The recovery of epididymal spermatozoa, their cryopreservation and posterior use on IVP of bovine embryos, has become an important tool to store genetic material from animals that have died unexpectedly or that have acquired reproductive inability. The present study aimed to evaluate the viability of spermatozoa from epididymides after their incubation on IVF medium supplemented or not with hep...
متن کاملBIO treatment enhances rat marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cell in vitro proliferation and viability
Introduction: Previous investigations have indicated that the presence of BIO (6-Bromoindirubin-3-Oxime) in medium of some cell culture enhances the cell proliferation and viability. The aim of the present study was to investigate the BIO effects on in vitro expansion of rat marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) culture. Methods: In the present experimental study, bone marrow cells from ...
متن کاملP-34: Effect of Glucose on Buffalo Epididymal Sperm Motion Characteristics, Viability and Cytoplsmic droplets During 24 Hours Incubation
Background: The recovery of sperm from the cauda epididymis may be the last chance to conserve, genetic Materials of valuable farm animals. Sperm utilize glucose as source of energy through glycolysis and oxidative phosphorylation to provide motility and movement. While endogenous glucose of the culture media has little potential to preserve sperm motility and viability for long period of time ...
